Wiggle while you work

Whether you’re working or learning from home right now, it’s important for all ages to stay active for both your physical and sensory health. If you’re lucky, you have a home office/space — but you’d be in the minority. Rather than office/school desks and chairs, most people are having to choose between sofas, beds, kitchen tables or the floor, moving less than ever before in smaller spaces. And this could have a devastating impact on our bodies.

Bouncybands have been clinically proven to improve the ability to focus and stay on task while moving, relieving anxiety, stress, frustration and boredom. Movement is important to help us focus and take in information.

See ideas to help, not just for now at home, but when you are back in your office or school environment.

When you find yourself sitting for long periods of time in front of a laptop you are much more likely to develop neck and upper back discomfort. Using something simple, like our Bouncyband Wiggle Seat Cushion, can help to relieve upper body tension and builds back musculature.

A Wiggle cushion is an inflatable cushion, strong enough to sit or stand on.  When sat on the inflated cushion creates instability (a wobble!) encouraging the user to engage their back and core muscles. So you will effectively be exercising while you work!

The ergonomic design of the cushion provides lower back pain relief. Simply place the cushion between you and your office chair for lower back and lumbar support, or sit on top of the chair cushion for posture enhancement and flexible seating.

It’s great for standing desks too! The rocking motion can help strengthen one’s core and help improve balance and posture with daily use.

They have been tested to take the weight of up to 400lbs so they are suitable for all ages. The flexible nubs on one side and small bumps on the other can easily be felt giving a choice for just the right amount of tactile stimulation. The cushion can be inflated as much or as little as required.   Don’t over inflate the cushion – it requires enough air to make in wobble when you sit or stand on it.

Our unique range comes in 2 circles sizes 33cm and 27cm and 2 fun shapes of a monster or butterfly.

Why not build in your movement breaks during the day by using the cushion in a different way?

Levels of Challenge

You can inflate the wiggle seat more to get an increased challenge for balance.

Standing with a wiggle seat under each foot is the least challenging

Standing with two feet on one disk is a greater challenge.

Standing one-legged on the disk gives the biggest challenge.

Balance: Stand on one foot on the cushion for 30 seconds, then switch feet and repeat. Work up to 60 seconds. For an added challenge, close your eyes.

Arm strengthening exercises: Use dumbbells to perform a typical set of arm exercises while standing on the cushion.
Squats: Standing on the disc, bend your knees and lower your body into the squat position until your knees are bent about 90 degrees. You can hold the squat for 15 or 30 seconds or raise and lower yourself into the squat for 20 repetitions. Add increased intensity by doing weighted squats with dumbbells or a barbell.

Introduce a ‘No Roll Weighted Yoga Ball’ into your daily routine for an active exercise break.

Being seated on an unstable surface automatically uses the deep muscles of your abdomen and lower back. These muscles have to work harder than normal to stabilise you. It’s also very hard (but not impossible!) to slouch on a yoga ball, so you’re much more likely to sit with good posture.

Another bonus is that you can also use the ball for some mobilisations, stretches and exercises during your regular breaks. You can vary the intensity of demand on your core by adjusting the amount of air in the ball. The firmer the ball, the harder it is to balance. The added weight in the ball is unique and great for all ages so that it doesn’t roll away.

These fun Bouncy bands can be easily attached to chairs or tables allow children and adults to release excess energy and concentrate by bouncing their feet and stretching their legs. Similarly when bored, tired or disinterested, bouncybands engage nerve endings on the bottom of their feet to generate ideas and encourage activity.

Fidgeting with Wiggle Feet allows excess energy to be expelled while sitting at a desk, or in any chair helping achieve greater focus. Wiggle Feet provide a calming influence as the dual textured surfaces; on one side flexible nubs and on the other small bumps,, facilitate just the right amount of tactile stimulation. The Wiggle Feet are excellent for bilateral coordination, improving balance and stabilization.
